NTPC Talaipalli Coal Mining Project successfully kicked off the in-house Black Diamond Cup 2024. Four teams, Anthracites, Sholey XI, Matiputra XI and Ameyavikrama, selected 68 players during a formal auction ceremony held on 15.05.2024. The first exhilarating match started at 8:00 PM between Anthracites and Sholey XI.

Anthracites, batting first, set a formidable target of 134/9, after a commendable performance by Shri Sunil Kumar Pradhan, who later received the Man of the Match award for his all-round display. Sholey XI could only score 86/9, resulting in a 48-run victory for Anthracites. AGM-Mining Shri VC Dubey, AGM-HR Shri Bijay Kumar Swain and other senior officials graced the event with their presence, adding to the enthusiasm and morale of the participants.

The match showcased remarkable sportsmanship and team spirit, key values promoted by NTPC Talaipalli. The Black Diamond Cup 2024 aims to foster stronger bonds among employees through sports and recreation, and the inaugural match set a positive tone for the remainder of the tournament.
